The ‘First Blade of Ostia’ is an accolade few will achieve. In Ostenheim, a city obsessed with duelling, it is one that nobody forgets.
Bryn’s earliest memory is of watching duels in the arena. His earliest dream is of taking his place there.
Amero has no dreams. His life has been about fulfilling the expectations of others. In search of a path of his own, the dreams of others are too tempting to resist.
After years of sacrifice and hard work, Bryn is finally a professional duellist. Becoming the First Blade of Ostia no longer seems the childish fantasy it once did. To find the man standing in his way is also his best friend will test him in ways he would never have believed.

Appearances can be deceiving…
To Rolf, Mirabay is the city of dreams. Called the Jewel of the West, it is the place of kings and heroes and great deeds. The chance to visit is not an opportunity Rolf is willing to miss. At first glance, the city is everything he expects, but with an appearance and accent more suited to the Marches rather than the refined salons and sophisticated ballrooms of the city, he is met with the prejudice reserved for those from the rural provinces.
Dreams and preconceptions rarely meet with reality, however and as the city begins to lose its lustre for Rolf, those he thought him an uncouth blow-in from the Marches learn the error of their ways.

Some monsters are mindless beasts. Others ask why you have come to die.
Fifteen years ago, a dragon burned Valdamar dal Rauvais’s world to ash. The attack claimed the life of his father—a Chevalier of the Silver Circle—and shattered Valdamar's belief that the knights could keep the empire safe.
Now a graduate of the Imperial Academy, Valdamar has joined the very order his father died serving. Armed with Telastrian steel and driven by a need for vengeance, he rides into the freezing mountains on his first hunt alongside a squad of veteran dragon-slayers.
But the academy did not prepare him for the truth of the beasts. Their prey is no simple animal, but a silver-scaled predator possessing ancient intelligence. When the seasoned knights begin to fall in a brutal ambush, Valdamar is left outmatched and alone. To survive the mountain, he must discard his formal training, fight without honor, and face a creature that forces him to question everything he thought he knew about the enemy.
