I was having lunch with my brother yesterday, and was explaining to him that I just write the kind of books I like to read — adventure, light fantasy, swashbuckling, a little historical flavouring — nothing earth shattering, nothing groundbreaking, nothing that will make top ten lists or win any prizes.
Sometimes when you tempt fate, she seems to turn things around on you faster than you might expect! To say I was pretty surprised when I saw mention of this BuzzFeed top ten (well, top 12) list on Twitter this morning is something of an understatement:

In eighth position, The Tattered Banner! It’s pretty humbling to be placed in the company of names like Neil Gaiman and Brandon Sanderson, not to mention being listed among so many great books. Not a bad start to the day at all!
